Nars FOTD

2013 was definitely the year I fell head over heels for Nars , it started with the 'infamous' Laguna and spiraled downwards.
Asides from a few stumbles with Sheer glow I have honestly loved everything I've tried.
For today I thought I'd show you my Nars face.

BASE-
I use the Body shop's Vitamin E illuminating moisture cream to inject some radiance into my skin before applying Sheer glow with the real techniques miracle complexion sponge.
I find this is perfect for when I want something with a little more coverage without it being too drying.
Laguna is my go to bronzer when I can't be bothered to make decisions (it is hard decision). This bronzer adds warmth and definition to the cheeks without looking too 'done' .
When it comes to blush on my Nars face I like to switch it up a bit i'll either use the baby pink deep throat or a swirl of the soulshine palette, which I reviewed here here.
Base is finished with a teeny but of the champagne toned albatrose highlighter which adds a nice glow without looking too shimmery and sparkly. (teeny side note but maybe don't drop your powders as they may will smash)

Finishing off -

I hadn't paid too much attention to the Nars eye shadow's until my sister bought me this little duo - Kalahari.
The creamy shadows are well pigmented and apply well, these two shades are just perfect for those neutral lovers out there. A gold copper shade with a brown shimmer which is a little bit like MAC club and I'm sold! I really must buy some more of these shadows.
To finish the look I go for a slick of  the creamy coral Lodhi. I love this lipstick it's perfect for adding a pop of colour on cold winter days .

The Marmite foundation

Nars sheer Glow

I call this my marmite foundation because it's one of those that splits a crowd. Some love it, some hate it . Me I just sit in the middle one minute I love it, the next I hate it.
I've put off doing this review because I just couldn't decide how I felt and yet 5 months later I still can't. I really want to love it because so far Nars has never let me down.
First things first I'm sure this isn't the right colour for me but it's the one the woman matched me too.
Let's get it out of the way I like many others hate the packaging, if I'm paying £30 odd I want a pump!
I was lucky enough to get given this one in a local Space NK so it's worth asking about but I notice they've started selling it online, maybe because of Christmas?

This is where I start to get a little bit confused, I don't think it's a sheer foundation instead the coverage is more around the medium but it does even the skin tone and hides blemishes.
What I do really like about this foundation is that it does give the skin a beautiful glow.
It isn't dewy nor is it matte it just gives a healthy glow from within.
This foundation also doesn't have any SPF in so it's great for flash photography especially around the festive period.

So you know what I think I'll stick with it and see what happens maybe I'll edge of f the fence soon enough.

p.s It's only ten days till Christmas!!!!! :D

A growing NARS Obsession ...

This time last year I would have sworn on the likes of Chanel, YSL and MAC if I wanted something a little more high end , however more recently I've headed straight to the NARS counter with little more than a side wards glance towards the shiny counterparts.
So in a recent trip to Sephora there was no exception in honesty I could have spent a lot more money than did as there was just so much I loved alas I restrained myself to two purchases - one of which I want to talk about today :)

Ladies (and maybe gentlemen) I present NARS SOULSHINE CHEEK PALLETTE: (£35)

NARS market this product as been a cheek Palette which can be used to create a beautifully sculpted look. I'm not entirely convinced it will give you those greatly desired chiseled cheekbones but what it will do is add beautiful colour with a hint of shimmer.
Soulshine is made up of a barbie esq pink , a darker grape shade and a beautiful apricot shade all completed with a subtle rose shimmer.

PROS:

  • Adds a beautiful glow to sunkissed skin and is perfect for evening make up.
  • This palette is 12g whereas the regular NARS blusher is 4.8g - so uno you are getting good value for you're dollar
  • The apricot shade is absolutely beautiful , it gives such a nice pinch of colour whilst highlighting the cheeks.
CONS:
  • Now personally I don't see many cons in this bad boy but I can see that it's defiantly more suited to darker skin tones but never fear if you are light handed when applying you can still control the amount of product you are applying.

You can pick this pretty little palette up for a limited time only from Space NK
