Skincare newbies from Kiehl's

If your a regular to these parts then my love for Kiehl's will come as no suprise, in fact I'd even go as far as saying Kiehl's is my favourite skincare brand (well at the momment anyway.)

I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've bought, I had a fondness for the no fuss packaging and I rather like the skeleton and white coats when you go instore.
It's also worth noting that I've always found the staff in Kiehl's too be lovely - never too pushy but yet happy to offer guidance. Last time I went to the Nottingham Kiehl's I had a lovely chat with the assistant about the Origins drink up mask in comparison to the Ultra facial hydrating Overnight masque.

Gushing about the brand aside lets move onto my latest purchases....

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream £24.00 for 50ml

Does any one else find it's easier to find a night cream then morning? I was very happy with what I had been using but just fancied something a little bit different - I get bored easily and felt my skin still needed a little more moisture.

The Ultra Facial cream is slightly heavier than the Ultra Facial moisture but still holds many of the same traits. It claims to give the skin up to 24hr of ultra hydration, reduces moisture loss whilst helping with water replenishment. With these traits it's easy to see how this is an ideal night cream.
I really love this cream it's a pleasure to apply and I wake up with soft youthful looking skin. Can I just say that on at least 4 accounts this week I have been mistaken for been on school work experience. Something must be working?

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser £8.00 for 75ml

This cheeky little cleanser caught my eye just as I was paying (hence it's the travel sized one). I've actually being bowled over by this cleanser. Although it's a liquid formula it doesn't foam too much and it definatly doesn't dry the skin. Instead it gently cleanses the skin of excess oils, dirt and debris. It smells really fresh too which is always a plus I'm definatly going to buy the full sized one next.

Another thing I love about Khiels is that they do a number of travel sized products which are perfect if you want to test a product or if you know your travelling!

So there we have it a little ode to two of my new favourites... next on my list from this range is the ultra facial toner.

Morning skincare routine

I don't know what it is about skincare posts but I love them! I'm really nosy and find it so interesting to see what people use and why they use these things. I also think looking at other peoples routines are really great because skincare isn't cheap and it gives a little insight into what other people are enjoying.
So here's a little run through of what's gracing my face in the morning...

Cleanser-  I'm not going to lie but sometimes I 'forget' to wash my face in the morning, I know I know bad bridgey. I picked up the Burts Bee's soap bark and chamomile deep cleansing cream  way back in Canada and just carried on using it. It smells like lemonade so it's really refreshing in the morning and gently removes all the dirt and grime. As it's a cream cleanser its very nourishing. If I'm short on time I'll just use a swipe of micellar water at the momment it's the Garnier one.
For toner I use the Neals Yard Nourishing orange flower toner  which is nice and refereshing but it also adds a nice dose of  moisture.  The blue bottles rather pretty too .

Moisturiser-   when it comes to morning moisturiser I'm a little bit of a floozy and tend to alternate depending on my mood and how my skins feeling. At the momment I'm using the Nude radiant day moisturiser , Clarins Daily Energizer cream and the Body shop Vitamin E illuminating moisture cream. You may notice a pattern? they all claim to give radient skin.

Treatments -  Ahh you'll see that good old hydraluron makes an appearance, I love popping this on my skin in the morning and you know it's true that you can tell when you stop using it. I did a little review a while ago here. I've been trying the Ole Henrikson truth serum collagen booster but if I'm honest I'm not 100% keen on it yet but I'll let you know how we get on.  Finally it's not strictly a treatment but I'm trying to be a bit better with my SPF so I've been slapping on the Clinique city block in SPF 25.  This is one of my favourite facial suncreams as it glides on whilst giving a nice glow to skin. It can aslo be used as a bit of a primer before applying foundation or simply worn alone.

Lips and eyes-   At 22 wrinkles aren't too much of a concern yet so in an eye cream I tend to look for something that hydrates the delicate under eye area. My current go to eye cream is the Khiels creamy eye treatment with avocado  which is very hydrating and has the wierdest texture (Review will be up soon). Sometimes I'll use the Emma Hardie amazing face natural lift and sculpt firming eye serum . For lips I use the lovely Nuxe reve de miel  ready for whatever lip products I decide to use that day.

Nude natural radiance set

I am a big fan of the Nude skincare range, I loved the purify cleansing wash and the perfect cleaning oil is the best eye make-up remover I've ever used - this includes the Clarins instant eye make-up remover , and I do have a little soft spot for the lilac packaging.
I really wanted to try a few more bits from the range and asked for the natural radiance set for Christmas.
Nude is like the name suggests very skin friendly - it's 100% natural and allergen free and  the ingredients used are ones that the body can recognize.  Nude's etho's is that it's products are beautiful and natural so that skin shines.
The idea of this set is that it gives the 'skin perfect natural lighting wherever you are.'

Perfect cleansing oil (15 ml) full size - £28.00
At the minute this is one of my go to cleansers , it's perfect a hydrating and perking up winter skin but equally it is a light enough oil that it can be used when the weather heats up.
Considering how well this oil takes off eye make-up it doesn't strip the skin at all, rather it melts away any impurities, dirt and make-up. I like to massage this oil into my face and wipe off with a warm flannel , if I'm wearing waterproof eye make-up I'll pop some on cotton pad's and swipe away.

Radiant day moisturiser( 15ml) full size - £42.00
Containing N-Probiotic cell nutrient this moisturiser aims to stimulate the skin to produce it's own anti-aging ingredients. Now at 22 I can't say aging is a major concern of mine but this moisturiser really does help to hydrate and re-awake the complexion. What I really love about this moisturiser is that it's very light weight and not much is needed in order to achieve great results.

Pro Genius treatment oil (10ml) full size - £58.00
Ahhh the star of the show ( did I mention how much I'm enjoying oils at the moment? ) rich in omega 3,6.7 and 9 this oil helps replenish skin cells. Yes it sounds extreme but just one application and the skin looks more radiant. This is quite a heavy oil so I would recommend patting it into the skin rather than rubbing it in and give it a few minutes to soak in.
For a luxury over night treatment mix a little of the oil with the radiant day moisturiser.

If you are wanting to try something new or if Nude is a brand that's caught you're eye then I'd defiantly recommend this little set, and at £38 it's a great introduction to the brand or a great gift for any skin care lover. After all who doesn't want healthy radiant skin?

Available from Space Nk at £38.00

The men's skincare edit : what's in my wash bag

So I thought I'd do a different type of skincare post today.
Be it that you want some inspiration for yourself or ladies you want to encourage you're man friends to up the skincare routine.
So I roped in my boyfriends wash bag for you too all have a little spy off, it's nothing fancy but it's the bits he enjoys using (some after a little bit of encouragement that boys need to cleanse too)

Kiehl's facial fuel, energizing face wash (250ml for £17)
Claims to remove dirt, surface oil and impurities whilst refreshing and awaking the skin.
Although this gel cleanser does lather up quite a bit it is still surprisingly moisturizing an doesn't dry out the skin too much.
The combination of caffeine, menthol and citrus provides a refreshing cleanse that awakens the skin and the mind in the morning with out it been too over powering. ( I did a little road test of this and can say I really did enjoy using it in the morning)
The boy - James says that he likes that you just rub it on and splash it off and the dirt is gone... sounds a little bit like that Cillit bang advert!

Clinique M lotion (£23.00)
This light weight moisturizer adds a hit of hydration with added UV protection. It is perfect because it means that the skin is sun protected and is nice and smooth after the wear and tear of the day. The M lotion isn't overly oily or scented so it doesn't aggravate the skin too much. A little really does go a long way.

Kiehl's lip balm #1(£9.50)

I've been known to steal this lip balm on occasion because it really is very nourishing- upon reading the ingredients I discovered that it contains lanolin so is very similar to the lanolips collection. This is a great lip balm for men because it's not scented, tinted or flavoured and just sinks right into the lips to revive. James even said he preferred it to the Nuxe Reve de Miel - high praise indeed.

So there's the skincare bits, I thought I'd just chuck in this little extra because James swears by it. To the point that it is the only shampoo he uses, so over to him.

Trevor Sorbie MG Two in one shampoo (£5.50)
I really like this shampoo because it does exactly what it says it does - cleanses and conditions.  I don't need to use a separate conditioner which saves a little bit of time in the morning.

The new skincare additions

Literally every time I'd go into boots ,I'd pick up Hydraluron put it into my basket and swiftly put it back on the gleaming white shelf. I just didn't seem to be able to decide if I actually needed this much hyped product?
However last week I noticed Indeed labs was on reduction so finally Hydraluron and his beautiful brother eysilix were welcomed into my home.

Hydraluron- moisture booster with the purest Hyaluronic acid (£24.99 at Boots)

So what does it do?
'increases skin hydration from below the surface with an ultra-high-quality hyaluronic acid that holds up to 1,000 times it's weight in water.'
Hydraluron aims to reinforce the natural moisture of the skin, plumps the skins tissue and aids visibly radiant and youthful skin.
So I was skeptical at first but you know my skin just feels so good now it does have a radiant glow, my make up and moisturiser both sit more comfortably on the skin and those horrid dry patches aren't as scaly.

Eysilix- Instant eye rescue (£24.99 at boots)

'The first ever 10 peptide eye cream that instantly lifts, reduces the appearance of puffiness and dark circles while targeting fine lines, wrinkles, crows feet and tired eyes.'
So under eye circles are one of my major issues of concern - I've struggled with eye creams and concealers but it still looks like I've got 6 BIG suitcases under my peepers. Yet at £24.99 this little bad boy has made me feel that little bit more at ease with the way my eyes look. I really do feel as if my under eyes have lifted , puffiness reduced and the dark circles are slowly disappearing. Now I know the under eye problem will always be an issue but I do feel a little bit more comfortable after using Eysilix.

So are these indeed labs offerings worth the hype? YES!!! to put it simply

Have you tried any of the indeed labs products? lemme know what you though :)
